Doris Elizabeth Everhart Frosch McClain, 86, formerly of Hudson passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at her home in Bowie. She was born in Hudson on January 14, 1928 and was a daughter of the late John Russell Everhart and Helen Spedden Everhart.

Mrs. McClain graduated from Cambridge High School, where she was top in her class and also graduated from Cambridge Hospital Nursing School where she received her Registered Nurse certificate. She was a supervising operating nurse at Dorchester General Hospital and later she worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington, DC and Glenn Dale Hospital in Glenn Dale, MD. On January 31, 1950, she married Lt. Col. Kenneth Frosch who passed away on May 20, 1978. She later married Carroll T. "Jack" McClain on September 25, 1993, who passed away on February 8, 2012. She enjoyed cooking, reading and was active in her community. She was a member of Spedden United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter Sharon F. Sweet of Bowie, a son Kenneth M. Frosch of Alexandria, VA, two stepsons Dale H. McClain and wife Kendra "Sissy" of Cambridge and Thomas P. McClain of Cambridge, a step daughter Beth M. Wilson and husband Brett of Rhodesdale, grandchildren Jessica Sweet, Devin Sweet, John Still, Shawn Wingate, Victoria Wingate, Drew Wilson, Adam Wilson, Lisa Roberts, Jeni Lewis, Jeri Collins, Michelle Steinbeck, Blaire Adams and Blaine Williamson, and thirteen great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs. McClain is preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth Frosch, a son John Forsch, a sister Jean Bigio, grandsons Adam Wingate and Brent Williamson.

Pallbearers will be John Still, Drew Wilson, Adam Wilson, Dale McClain, Donald Bell and Shawn Wingate.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Pam Bockart officiating. Interment will follow at Spedden Seward Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
