Dorothy C. Davis

Dorothy Caine Doran Davis, 81, of McDaniel passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Chesapeake Woods center in Cambridge. She was born in Sandtown, DE on April 9, 1932 and was a daughter of the late Alonzie E. and Della Walls Caine.

Mrs. Davis attended schools in Caroline County. On September of 1949, she married Raymond F. Doran, who passed away on June of 1956. On December 31, 1960, she married her second husband Harry G. Davis, who passed away on February 29, 2000. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and also enjoyed gardening and reading.

She is survived by two daughters Fran Doran of McDaniel and Grace V. Davis Foringer of East New Market, four sons Raymond Doran, Jr. of Cambridge, William Doran of Salisbury, Harry G. Davis III of Salisbury and Larrie A. Davis of Cumberland, eight grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, a sister Lillie M. Elliott of Delaware, a brother Martin I. Caine of New Mexico and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husbands, Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by a grandson Larry Davis, Jr., a granddaughter Jennifer L. Davis and a sister Elizabeth Smith.

Pallbearers will be Fran Doran, Nick E. Palamaras, David Troast, Harry Davis III, William Doran and Karl Foringer.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Nancy Sajda officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Talbot Interfaith Shelter, P.O. Box 2004, Easton, MD 21601.
