Dorothy R. "Dotty" Gray

Dorothy R. "Dotty" Gray, 66, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Cambridge on June 19, 1945 and was a daughter of the late Woodrow S. and Leona Jones Robinson.

Mrs. Gray graduated from South Dorchester High School class of 1963. On May 1, 1966 she married George A. Gray, Sr. She worked and retired from the Eastern Shore State Hospital Center as a switchboard operator. Mrs. Gray was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in East New Market.

She is survived by her husband George A. Gray, Sr. of Cambridge, a son George A. Gray, Jr. and wife April of East New Market, four grandchildren Alissa Gray, C.J. Murphy, Thomas Griffin and Michael Griffin, two sisters Charlotte Jones and husband Ellsworth of Cambridge and Janice Paul and husband Melvin of Golden Hill, a brother in law Bobby James and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Gray is preceded in death by a son Tracy Dowe Robinson, two sisters Millie Mae Robinson and Yvonne James.

Pallbearers will be Duane Lutz, Duane Paul, Randy Jones, Marty Jones, Ellsworth Jones, Jr. and C.J. Murphy.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Holly Center Foundation, in memory of Tracy Dowe Robinson, 926 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.
