Dorothy M. Kirby

Dorothy M. Kirby, 83, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Parkview Nursing Home. She was born on May 16, 1930 in Cambridge, MD and was a daughter of the late Ralph W. and Verlye McNamara Sullivan.
Mrs. Kirby graduated from Cambridge High School. She was married to Joseph G. Kirby, Jr. who passed away on January 15, 1999. Mrs. Kirby some years ago had worked with a credit bureau in Wilmington, DE, but most of her life she was a homemaker. She enjoyed going to the dinner theatre. Mrs. Kirby attended Brandywine Senior Center and was a member of Peninsula McCabe United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter Linda Martin and husband Gary of Wilmington, DE, a son Robert G. Kirby of Delaware and two grandchildren Scott Weihermuller and Jonathan Weihermuller and two great grandchildren Brooke Weihermuller and Chase Weihermuller.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor George W. Wheatley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
