Douglas C. Murphy

Douglas C. Murphy, 64, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born in Cambridge on February 24, 1948 and was a son of the late Crawford O'Neal Murphy, Sr. and Beatrice Brohawn Murphy.
Mr. Murphy graduated from Cambridge High School and attended several years of college. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He worked at Pep-Up as a service technician and later worked at Jesse Jr. and Sons. He enjoyed old muscle cars. Mr. Murphy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1962.
He is survived by a son Corey A. Murphy of Abingdon, MD and a daughter Mary Katherine Murphy of Baltimore, a grandson Trent Jacob Murphy of Abingdon, MD and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters Mary Linda Murphy and Joan M. Hurley and two brothers Barry B. Murphy and Crawford O'Neal Murphy, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Corey Murphy, Jon Masaracchia, Michael Bell, Jessie Eskridge, Johnny Matthews and Steve Bloodsworth.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at noon at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Mr. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 11 to 12.
