Dr. William Willis Tubman, Jr.

Dr. William Willis Tubman, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Denton Nursing and Rehab from a long battle from a previous stroke. He was the son of William Willis Tubman and Olga Jones Tubman of Cambridge, MD.

He was born in Cambridge, he enjoyed his childhood living on the Choptank River. He left Cambridge to attend Randolph Macon Military Academy. Later, he attended the University of Baltimore earning a BA in Psychology & Social Sciences, Coppin State with a Masters of ED Special Education, and George Washington University with a degree in Administration and Supervision and University of Maryland with a Doctorate in Early Childhood & Human Development, Reading and Learning Disabilities.

His work history spanned from teaching at North Dorchester High School to CEO of the Upper Shore Community Hospital Center in Chestertown, MD.

He is preceded in death by both his mother and father.

He leaves behind his devoted wife Anna Ruth Tubman, a daughter Jacqueline Kelly Chubet (Charlie) and grandsons Logan and Lucas of New Rochelle, NY and his stepdaughter Rachel Wyman and grandchildren Josie, Keegan and Mac Crampsey of New Paltz, NY and his sister Kim Gynan and her children Brittany and Jacob of Virginia Beach, VA.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 12pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. with Rev. Tonya McClain. Family will receive friends from 11 to 12. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
