Dulcie Linthicum Thamert, 83, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Baltimore on December 11, 1928 and was a daughter of the late Ray Walsh Sheets and Elizabeth Robbins Parks.

A lifelong resident of Cambridge where she attended public schools and graduated from Cambridge High School Class of 1945. She also attended Goldey Beacom College. Her class of 1945, have been a very close knit group over the years attending class reunions on a monthly basis. She was employed by Cambridge Cleaners and Trailways Bus Service. In 1951, she married Richard Lee Linthicum, Jr. They had been married for 24 years when he passed away on October 22, 1975. In 1962, she went to work for her brother Raymond Sheets at Sheets Flower Shoppe. It had been her life work. In 1983, she married Donald J. Thamert. He passed away on April 15, 2003. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, a past member of the Cambridge Yacht Club and in 1962 she was captain of the Shipmates. She was president of the Ladies of the Elks for 7 terms. She was active in school and the PTA where she was a lifetime member.

She is survived by a daughter Colleen E. Peterson and husband Richard of Ohio, two sons Dr. Richard L. Linthicum III and wife Mary of Baltimore and Craig S. Linthicum and wife Debbie of Cambridge, six grandchildren Taryn E. Moyer, Heather L. Schneider, Erika L. Linthicum, William C. Linthicum, Emily W. Linthicum and Carly R. Linthicum, a brother Raymond Sheets of Cambridge, a sister Suzanne Jefferson of Easton and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husbands, Mrs. Thamert is preceded in death by a brother Harold Sheets and a sister Doris Rue.

Pallbearers will be William C. Linthicum, Woody Rue, Michael Granger, Billy Windsor, Steve Merrick and Richard Peterson.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. William Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
