E. Marvelle Thompson, 79 of Easton, formerly of Cambridge, passed away at the William Hill Manor in Easton on Sunday, July 3, 2011. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 31, 1931, and was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Brewster Thompson.
She graduated from Day School in New Haven, Connecticut and also attended Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. Miss Thompson was a homemaker for most of her life. She volunteered at the Robin Hood Shop through the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary and had volunteered over 8000 hours. She was a member of the Cambridge Woman's Club and St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She had been a resident at William Hill Manor for the past five years.
She is survived by a two cousins Douglas G. Sites, Jr. and his wife Connie Sites of Seaford, and Marcia Boncella and her husband Tom of Preston great nieces and great nephews Lori Colby of Hollywood, MD, Christopher Robertson of Waldorf, MD, Rebecca Boncella of Preston and Charles Boncella of Denton and several other family members.
A memorial service will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge on Saturday, July 16 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Fred Bahr officiating. The family will receive friends a half hour preceding the service. Interment will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robin Hood Shop, 416 High Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
