Earl E. "Skip" Cox, Jr., 71 of Easton passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born in Cambridge on September 7, 1942 and was a son of the late Earl E. Cox, Sr. and Helen Taylor Cox.
Earl attended Cambridge High School. After high school, he entered and served in the U.S. Army. On June 23, 1984, he married the former Donna Hooper, who passed away on September 29, 2008. Earl was employed with the State of Maryland as a Supervisor of the Mid Shore Drinking and Driving Program until he retired in 2007. He was an avid Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan. He also enjoyed wood working and gardening.
He is survived by a son Daniel Cox and fiancAC.e Sandy Kuneman of Easton and a daughter Missy Wheat and husband John of Seattle, Washington, three grandchildren Rachel Cox, Matthew Sinclair and Daniel Ryan Sinclair, a brother William "Buddy" Cox and wife Charlotte of East New Market and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Cox is preceded in death by a son Darren Edward Cox and a sister Beverly Wanex.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Mr. David Tolley officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Arrangements are in care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
