Edgar Lee Cannon

Edgar Lee Cannon, 79, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born in Cambridge on April 14, 1932 and was a son of the late Charles E. and Elizabeth Thomas Cannon.
He graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1952. On December 19, 1953 he married the former Mary Brown. Mr. Cannon was a brick mason for 27 years and retired in 1997. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. He enjoyed hunting, duck carving and playing golf. Mr. Cannon was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 46 years, the American Legion Post 91 and the Cambridge Skeet Club.
He is survived by his wife Mary B. Cannon of Cambridge, a son Rodney L. Cannon of Cambridge and a daughter Judy A. Cannon of Cambridge, a brother Thomas C. Cannon of Easton and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. Interment will be private. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Faith Baptist Fellowship, 108 Teal Lane, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
