Edward L. Brittingham, 84 of Church Creek passed away on July 1, 2014 at UMSMC at Dorchester. Edward "Toots" as he was known by family and friends, was born on December 24, 1929 to Wm. Nelson and Anita Abbott Brittingham.
Toots attended schools in Dorchester County and enlisted in the United States Army in 1951. After his time in the Army, he returned home to work at Cambridge Wire Cloth and remained there until his retirement after 39 years. He enjoyed being around home, working in the yard and spending time with Allen and George.
Toots leaves behind sisters Frances Phillips of Salisbury and Mary (Bill) Draper also of Salisbury, brothers Allen (Ann) Brittingham of Church Creek and George (Sharon) Brittingham of East New Market. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Marie Mills and Ann Mathias and brothers Harold Brittingham and Nelson Brittingham.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Old Trinity Churchyard with Pastor Dave Stewart officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge.
