Edward B. Jarrett, 82, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born in Cambridge on May 24, 1932 and was a son of the late Jaredy D. and Hattie Kemp Jarrett.
Mr. Jarrett graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On August 10, 1954, he married the former Carmen Phelps. He worked at A&P for 32 years and later was owner/operator of Choptank Mini Mart and finally worked with Dorchester Service Associates. He enjoyed doing yard work, was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, and had an interest in antique cars and his dogs Bailey and Ladie. Mr. Jarrett was a member of the American Legion Post 91, Rescue Fire Company and Grace United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Carmen Jarrett of Cambridge, a son Glen Jarrett and wife Brenda of Cambridge, four sisters Mary Andrews, Mamie Short, Barbara Holley and Brenda Richardson all of Cambridge, two brothers Jaredy D. Jarrett, Jr. of Delmar, DE and William D. Jarrett of Cambridge and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge with Pastor Christina Blake officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will received friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge and 12 to 1 p.m. at the church.
