Edward A. Pleasants

December 9, 1925 — March 19, 2011

Edward A. Pleasants, 85, of Rhodesdale, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at his home. He was born in Louisa, Virginia on December 9, 1925 and was a son of the late John T. and Merle Moss Pleasants.

Mr. Pleasants attended and graduated school in Louisa,Virginia. He worked Preston Trucking and retired after 36 years. He was a member of the Teamster Union.

He is survived by his wife Mary S. Pleasants of Rhodesdale, a son Thomas L. Pleasants and wife Arlene of Rhodesdale, a daughter Carolyn Pleasants Graham of Powhatan, Virginia, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Pleasants is preceded in death by two children Edward Ashton Pleasants, Jr. and Barbara Ann Clements and two brothers John Pleasants and James Pleasants.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. at East New Market Cemetery with Mr. David Tolley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
