Elizabeth D. Hurley

Elizabeth D. Hurley, 96, of Salisbury passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born in Wicomico County on October 9, 1916 and was a daughter of the late Elmer and Ruth Dennis.

Mrs. Hurley attended and graduated from schools in Wicomico County. She graduated from Cambridge-Maryland Hospital School of Nursing and was employed at Dorchester General Hospital. She married Jesse B. Hurley, Sr., who passed away on March 21, 1975. Mrs. Hurley enjoyed boating and reading.

She is survived by a son James Lantz of Ocean Pines, two grandsons Dr. Michael Lantz of Elkridge, MD and Steve Lantz of Trappe, five great grandchildren Jessica, Jimmy, Emily, Mitchell and Grace, two nephews Ronald Brittingham of Snow Hill and Dennis Brittingham of Ocean Pines. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hurley is preceded in death by a sister Kathryn Brittingham.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 at noon at East New Market Cemetery with Rev. George W. Wheatley, Jr. officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
