Elizabeth V. (Simpler) Perry

Elizabeth V. Perry, 82, of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford, DE.  She was born in Centreville on August 5, 1939 to the late Wenonah Jenkins Simpler.

Elizabeth, better known as Libby, graduated from Centreville High School class of 1957.  On September 14, 1958, she married William Henry Perry, Jr., who passed away on January 23, 1994.  Libby went on to complete nursing school, and she worked for many years as a nurse with Cambridge Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, especially romance and Amish novels, and she also enjoyed baking.  Her family will especially miss her apple cake.

Libby is survived by her children Sandy He’Bert and her husband Joe of Seaford, DE, Billy Perry III and his wife Raynette of Lorray, VA, Michael Perry of Cambridge, Wayne Perry of Williamsburg, VA, and June Turner and her husband Hamilton of Laurel, DE; 18 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a sister in law Sonja Kozak of Cambridge.  Besides her parents and her husband, Libby is preceded in death by her sister Wanda Clark and her grandson Wayne English.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 1 PM at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. with Pastor Nan Duerling officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Spedden Seward Cemetery, 948 Hudson Rd, Cambridge MD 21613.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Beckwith United Methodist Church, C/O Betsy Ewing, 1623 Taylors Island Rd, Woolford, MD 21671.  Face masks are requested.
