Ella L. Wright

Ella Louise Wright, 90 of Taylors Island passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born on April 12, 1921 in Richmond, VA and was a daughter of the late William Newton Pemberton and Lena May Pemberton (Garber).

In 1926 she moved to Chicago. She attended Bowen High School in Chicago. In 1937 she moved back to Alexandria, VA and graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria, VA in 1939. On September 8, 1951, she married Charles Woodley Wright. Ella and Charles moved to the Philadelphia suburbs shortly after marriage. Summering at Taylors Island, MD since 1959, Ella and Charles moved permanently to Taylors Island in 1985. She is survived by her husband Charles Woodley Wright of Taylors Island, her two children Charles William Wright and Tina Louise Bennett (and husband Tommy Lee Bennett), her two grandchildren Gregory Charles Wright and Britany Louise Wright both from Springfield PA and a brother in law Edward Clark. Besides her parents, Mrs. Wright is preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Ida Clark. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Taylors Island United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert G. Kirkley officiating. A reception following at Taylors Island Vol. Fire Station. Memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
