Ernest S. McNew

Ernest S. McNew, 69, of Madison passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at UMSMC at Easton. He was born in Virginia on August 4, 1944 and was a son of the late William F. McNew, Sr. and Edgar Alice Moore McNew.

Mr. McNew graduated from Sparrows Point High School class of 1963. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. On July 22, 1972, he married the former Donna Wood. Mr. McNew worked as a truck driver for 30 plus years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, crabbing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. McNew was a member of the Rod and Gun Club in Toddville and the Choptank Memorial Post #7460 VFW.

He is survived by his wife Donna J. McNew of Madison, six children Tabatha Gietka and husband Michael of Fort Howard, Nicole Riffey and husband Edward of Edgemere, Tamara Jacobs of Dundalk, Tanya McNew of Edgemere, Donna A. McNew of Edgemere and Chelsea McNew of Madison, seven grandchildren Meagan Hively, Morgan Riffey, Briana Jacobs, CJ Jacobs, Ronnie Acors, Khyla Acors and Logan Foulke, two sisters Marie Hinkle and Phyllis Harris, his best friend Dave Mallott and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. McNew is preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, MD.
