Ernestine Belle “ Teenie” Wheatley, 86, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge. She was born on June 21, 1930 in Cambridge to the late Thomas Adams, Sr., and Rowena Robinson Adams.
On March 2, 1967, she married Bobby Thomas Wheatley, who passed away on October 5, 2002. Mrs. Wheatley was a very hardworking woman. She worked for over 20 years at the Eastern Shore State Hospital as a seamstress, and she also worked for 15 years at Airpax in Cambridge. Everyone who knew her knew her as a strong woman. She also collected doll babies and stuffed animals of all kinds.
Mrs. Wheatley is survived by her sons Ronald Monroe Jones of Cambridge, and Gary Hart and his wife Denise of Secretary, a sister Daphne Legg and her husband George of East New Market, a brother Thomas Adams, Jr. and his wife Wayne of Cambridge, numerous step-children, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Wheatley is preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence “Spot” Jones, her second husband, William Melvin Hart, her third husband Bobby Thomas Wheatley, and a brother James Adams.
A funeral service will be held at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 2 PM with Rev. Richard Prahl officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust St., Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
