Esther Mace (Marshall) Higgins
January 1, 1917 — February 9, 2015
Esther M. Higgins, 98, of Cambridge, passed away on February 9, 2015 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Cambridge on January 1, 1917 and was a daughter of the late William J. Marshall, Jr. and Clara W. Brannock Marshall.
Esther graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1933. On June 18, 1948, she married Phillip J. Higgins, who passed away on July 3, 2003. Mrs. Higgins lived in Woolford for a number of years. Esther was a second mother to her nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Milton United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Higgins is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and her parents, she is preceded in death by a infant son, three brothers William R. Marshall, Donald C. Marshall, and James W. Marshall and two sisters Elizabeth M. Bachmann and M. Ruth Wolff.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. and Rev. Robert G. Kirkley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Milton United Methodist Church, c/o Charles Block, P.O. Box 106, Woolford, MD 21677. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, MD.
