Ethel Correll (Correll) Dean

Ethel C. Dean, 96, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at her home. She was born in North Carolina on March 2, 1920 and was a daughter of the late Andrew and Hattie Proctor Correll.

Mrs. Dean graduated from high school in North Carolina. She was first married on January 28, 1944 to James Ervin Cooper, who passed away on March 25, 1963. On August 19, 1966, she married Austin W. “Aukie” Dean, who passed away on April 24, 2001. Mrs. Dean worked for the telephone company and later was employed at Rob Roy as a floor supervisor and retired in April of 1983. She enjoyed sewing and going on Holloway Bus Tours. Mrs. Dean was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and a member of the Good Timers.

She is survived by her extended family Kitty Jones, Becky (Mark) Dennis, Eric Mahon (Rachel), Brian Mahon (Kellie) and their daughter Caroline, Kane Dennis (Ryan), Brad Dennis, Brenda Knowles (Wayne) and Madeline Parker and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Dean is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 10 am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. William Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
