Eugene A. D’Onofrio, Jr., 53, of Rhodesdale passed away after a long struggle with ALS on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born in Baltimore City on September 6, 1963 and was a son of Eugene A. D’Onofrio, Sr. and Frances Lund D’Onofrio.
Eugene received his GED from Baltimore City. On May 16, 1998, he married the former Mona Lisa Brittingham. Most of his life, he was a produce manager at Metro and owned Mona Lisa Antiques. Eugene was known as the "Metro Man". He enjoyed antiques and doing carpenter work.
He is survived by his wife Mona Lisa Brittingham D’Onofrio, his children Amanda Keyser and Nick D’Onofrio, stepchildren Jennifer Keyser, Lucas Patrick and Adam Patrick, grandchildren Jason Keyser, Jr., Lauren Keyser, Evan Keyser, Lucas Patrick, Jr., Cole Patrick and Adam Patrick, Jr., his parents Eugene A. D’Onofrio, Sr. and Frances D’Onofrio, a sister Diana Klug and husband Ray, three nephews and one great niece.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. with Rev. Mark Massey officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ten Mile Miracle Foundation for ALS, P.O. Box 1262, Bethany Beach, DE 19930.
