Evelyn M. Burton

Evelyn M. Burton, 96, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Reids Grove on October 4, 1916 to the late Clinton Johnson and Clara Tull Morean.
Mrs. Burton was raised in Dorchester County. She graduated from Hurlock High School. She married the late Donald M. Burton on June 25, 1945, who passed away on February 5, 2002. She was a volunteer at the Robin Hood Shop and at the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Burton was a member of the First Baptist Church and Fidelis Sunday School class.
She is survived by two sons R. Michael Burton and wife Diane of Williamstown NJ, and William A. Burton and wife Ellen of Fruitland, three grandchildren Alyssa, Kevin and Donald Burton along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and her parents, Mrs. Burton is preceded in death by two sisters Virginia Cannon and Ida Murphy and two brothers Myron Morean and Thomas Morean.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock with Rev. Steve Trice officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church, 501 Glenburn Ave. Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
