Faye Dunnock Sellers

Faye Dunnock Sellers, 88, originally from Cambridge, Md., passed away to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Atrium Health Medical Center, Charlotte N.C. Faye was born in Cambridge Md. to the late Carl Emmett Dunnock Sr. and Della Stokes Dunnock. She lived in Cambridge most of her life and graduated from Cambridge High School, Class of 1956. On August 2, 1957, Faye married Vernon W. Sellers, and they were married for 62 years until his passing in 2020. 

Faye worked part-time for Western Publishing Company and the Dorchester County Board of Education, but most of all, enjoyed being a homemaker and raising their two girls. Faye enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, including children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed family vacations in the Caribbean, Rehoboth Beach Delaware, and in recent years - Ocean City, Maryland. Following her husband’s death, Faye moved to Hummelstown, Pennsylvania to live with her daughter and son-in-law and to be near family. 

Faye is survived by her daughters: Sandra Sellers Thomas (Larry) of Hummelstown, PA., Susan Sellers Averill (Paul) of Tega Cay, SC., and her Australian “daughter” Jo Ann Lindley McCray (Kevin) of Melbourne, Australia. Five grandchildren: Meredith Thomas Ganly (Josh), Adam Thomas (Brooke), Josh Thomas (Taylor), Timothy Averill (Taylor) and Emilee Averill Deilus (Matt). She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, the youngest of which she got to meet the day before her passing. She is survived by a brother-in-law, George Sellers (Tracy) of Davenport, Florida and a special cousin Jane Hessler (George) of East New Market, Maryland. and several nieces and nephews. 

Per Faye’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Dorchester Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Rd., Cambridge, Md., 21613. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral, P.A. in Cambridge, Md.
