Faye Owens, 77, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Salem on August 10, 1937 to the late William S. and Martha Nagel Bradley.

Mrs. Owens grew up on a farm that was one of the first chicken growers for Perdue. She enjoyed helping her father sell their crops out of the family produce stand. Faye graduated from Wicomico Senior High on June 3, 1955. She attended Brow Vocational High in 1956 and took a Post Graduate Course in Psychiatry at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Faye worked as an LPN for a short time at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. and later at the Eastern Shore Hospital Center in Cambridge. On April 29, 1962 she married Lawrence F. Owens. Faye enjoyed cooking, being a caregiver to her family and friends and planting flowers and working in the yard. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Lawrence Owens of Cambridge, a son Bruce Owens and wife Susan of Cambridge, a granddaughter Meagan E. Owens of Cambridge, one brother Donald M. Bradley of Salisbury, three sisters Clara Bisker of Salisbury, Shirley Sonnier of Salisbury and Mary Ann Kosinski of Bel Air and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by a son Jeffrey S. Owens and three brothers Henry N. Bradley, Drexel L. Bradley and William S. Bradley, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Christina Blake officiating. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2219 York Rd., Suite 302, Timonium, MD 21093 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803.
