Faye M. (Mowbray) Bromwell

Faye Mowbray Bromwell, 86, of Cambridge passed away on March 15, 2021, in her home. She was born January 12, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Lydia Elizabeth and Vernon Mowbray.

Faye grew up in the country down Rt. 343. She was educated by Dorchester County Public Schools and was a graduate of Cambridge High School in 1953. Faye was very proud of her upbringing as many aunts and uncles assisted her growth as a youngster.

During the summers in and after high school, she worked for the Phillips Packing Company.  Throughout the years, Faye became a bookkeeper working for the Charles E. Brohawn construction firm and with the City of Cambridge.  Her greatest love was being the wife of William David Bromwell, Sr. (Her Dave) and raising their children David and Beth.

Faye was a life-time member of Cambridge Lodge 1272 B.P.O.E Elks, where she produced several variety shows for the community. “Hee-Haw” and “Laugh-In” Dorchester County style were fun for all.  Faye was also a member of Cambridge Little League, serving as a concessions’ coordinator.  She coached girls’ softball, for Dorchester County as The Roadrunners” were famous under her tutelage.  Sports took up a great amount time for her as rooting for her favorite professional football player Tom Brady or following her grandson’s sports teams year-round.

On May 18, 1963, Faye married the late William David Bromwell, Sr. She is survived by son, William David Bromwell, Jr. (Angela Marie Bromwell), grandchildren Mary Nicole (Cola) Bromwell Daum (Travis), Elizabeth Alexis (Alex) Bromwell Foxwell (Nicholas), Crystal Mercedes Bromwell Bergling (Joshua), Brendan David Bromwell, Jarrett Phillip Bromwell, Brice Austin Bromwell, and great grandsons, Mason James Daum and Tanner David Bergling.  She was preceded in death by daughter, Elizabeth Naomi Bromwell, (Beth) who passed away June 17, 1990.

Pallbearers will be W. David Bromwell Jr., Brendan D. Bromwell, Jarrett P. Bromwell, Brice A. Bromwell, Scott Patterson Jones, Kirk Payne, James Radcliffe Jones IV, and Jonathen Garing.  Honorary pallbearers will be James R. Jones III, James C. Garing, Jay Vickers, Travis Daum, Joshua Bergling, Nicholas Foxwell, and all the men who were friends with Dave and Faye, but also fortunate enough to share a beverage with Faye.

A private funeral will be held for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cambridge Power Boat Regatta, P.O. Box 134, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Green Bank Cemetery, J. R. Jones, 2125 Silver Goose Road, Cambridge, MD, 21613.  Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
