Florence J. Elzey

Florence J. Elzey, 81, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at her niece’s home. She was born in Golden Hill on October 25, 1942 and was a daughter of the late Olin H. and Cecilia Wallace Elzey.

Ms. Elzey attended schools in Crapo. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan and attended St. John's Methodist Church at Golden Hill.

She is survived by a sister Peggy Ruark of Cambridge, a brother William O. “Bud” Elzey and wife Dottie of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Ms. Elzey is preceded in death by two sisters Lavinia “Jeannie” Insley, and Margaret Bennett and five brothers Harry Elzey, Prettyman Elzey, Wallace Elzey, Albury “Tootsie” Elzey and Allen Elzey.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. John's Churchyard in Golden Hill with Pastor Scott Holotik officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 135, Church Creek, MD 21622. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
