Frances Elizabeth (Daniel) Price

Frances Elizabeth Daniel Price, 93, of Town Point passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born in New York City on February 9, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Florence Duflocq Daniel and Charles E. Daniel, Sr. She was married for over 62 years to the late Dale C. Price, Sr., until his death on November 28, 2005. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her brother, Charles E. Daniels, Jr. and son in law Raymond A. Hennessy, Sr.

Prior to her marriage to Dale, Sr., on October 30, 1943, Frances attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio, as a member of the Class of 1941. After raising her family and teaching in several Dorchester County Public Schools, she returned to college to earn a Bachelor of Science from Salisbury State College, graduating in 1979. Frances was a life-long member of Zion United Methodist on Locust Street and an active member of the Cambridge (Dorchester General) Hospital Auxiliary, especially at the Robin Hood Shop. Partnering with her husband, Frances was instrumental in keeping the Dorchester Heritage Museum at Horn Point open and operating for many years. She was dedicated to her hobbies of reading, stamp collecting, needle crafting of all kinds, and over 70 years of preparing photo albums of her family. Frances was an excellent, life-long bridge player.

Frances is survived by her children, Donna C. Hennessy of Sykesville, Dale C. Price, Jr. and wife Lynda of Cambridge, Debora C. Hancock and husband Donald of LaPlata, and Daniel C. Price and wife Susan of Cambridge, eleven grandchildren Patricia A. Hennessy, Dale C. Price III and wife Dawn, Laura E. Hennessy, Dean C. Price and wife Kate, Brian C. Brookhart and wife Julie, Christopher R. Brookhart and wife April, Raymond A. Hennessy, Jr., Kelly A. McNamara and husband Mark, Dianna C. Price and John Courtney, Darryl C. Price and wife Lindsey and DJ Lee (Hancock). In addition, she also leaves fifteen great grandchildren: Megan, Allison, Carrie, Ashlie, Jeremy, Andrew, Alyssa, Eric, Ryan, Sarah, Addison, Desmond, Ciara, Madelyn and Greyson.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 12:30 at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Frances may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA  23060, Dorchester County Historical Society, 1003 Greenway Drive, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Vienna Elementary School Library/Media Center, 4905 Ocean Gateway, Vienna, MD 21869.
