Franklin E. Harrison, 67, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 at home with his family by his side. He was born on April 17, 1947 in Cambridge and was a son of the late C. Lee Harrison and Susie Bridge Harrison.
He graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1966. Mr. Harrison served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 during Vietnam. On June 27, 1970, he married the former Barbara Jean Willey. Mr. Harrison worked with his father in the lumber business and later was employed with Dorchester Lumber Company since 1991. He enjoyed gardening and loved animals.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Jean Harrison of Cambridge, two children John Lee Harrison of Cambridge and Ashley Ellis and husband Troy of Cambridge, five grandchildren Chase Harrison, Bradey Ellis, Alyssa Harrison, Chloe Harrison and Noah Harrison Ellis, two sisters Peggy James of Cambridge, Joan Stump and husband Robert of Cambridge, two brothers Jimmy C. Harrison and wife Kathy of Easton, Billy L. Harrison of Augusta, GA, a step brother Marion L. "Buck" Wheatley of Cambridge, a special nephew Bobby Stump and several other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Harrison is preceded in death by his step mother Betty Harrison.
Pallbearers will be John Lee Harrison, Troy Ellis, Edward James, Paul Stump, Steven Lee Harrison and James Robert Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Chase Harrison and Bradey Ellis.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell and Rev. Brian Wheatley officiating. Interment will follow at Bucktown Churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O.
