Franklin R. O'Ferrall

Franklin R. O’Ferrall, 75, of Secretary, MD passed away on April 3, 2017 with his wife, Barbara, at his side.  He was born in Cambridge on September 20, 1941 and was the son of the late William Franklin Robert O’Ferrall and Margaret Adelaide Jackson O’Ferrall.

Franklin graduated from North Dorchester High School.  Shortly after graduation, he proudly served four years in the U.S. Army and enjoyed his many jumps as a paratrooper with the 82D Airborne Division.  On April 1, 1966 he married the former Barbara Ann Figgs and they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on April 1, 2017.  Franklin was employed by Perdue Farms of Bridgeville, Delaware for many years and retired in 2004.

Besides his wife, Franklin is survived by a son Robert W. O’Ferrall, a daughter Lisa Asplen, a granddaughter Ava Asplen, two brothers Daniel O’Ferrall and his wife Beverly, and Larry O’Ferrall and his wife Helen, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by a brother William B. O’Farrell.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday April 6, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. with the Rev. David Kreek officiating.  Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
