Gennia Lee (Foxwell) Willey

Gennia Lee Willey, 79, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at UMSMC at Easton. She was born in Lakesville on May 4, 1937 and was a daughter of the late Fred C. and Etta Fitzhugh Foxwell.

Mrs. Willey attended Cambridge High School. On January 9, 1952, she married Daniel E. Willey, who passed away on August 23, 2008. From 1975 to 1985, Mrs. Willey was employed at Countryside Christian School as an aid and in 1988; she worked with Elaine in a day care business. She enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles and her family. Mrs. Willey was a member of Countryside Christian Church.

She is survived by her children Wanda Robinson of Cambridge, Tina Marie Barton and husband John of Seaford, DE and Bruce D. Willey and wife Elaine of Seaford, DE, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, a brother Fred C. Foxwell, Jr. and wife Irene of Bridgeville, DE, a special aunt Louise Prahl of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Willey is preceded in death by a brother Franklin O. Foxwell.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11 am at Old Trinity Churchyard with Rev. David Bennett officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Countryside Christian School, 5333 Austin Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
