George H. "Jeremiah" Brannock

George H. "Jeremiah" Brannock, 77, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born in Taylors Island on September 14, 1934 and was a son of the late E. DeWitt and Susie Aaron Brannock.

He attended school in Taylors Island. On September 10, 1955 he married the former Joan Norris. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Brannock worked at Cambridge Wire Cloth and retired in 1998. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles, antique cars, woodworking and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife Joan Brannock of Cambridge, a son Glenn Brannock and wife Crystal of East New Market, a granddaughter Jennifer Brannock of Cambridge, a sister Kaye F. Robinson of Cambridge, three brothers Benjamin H. Brannock of East New Market, E. Daniel Brannock of Cornersville and E. DeWitt Brannock, Jr. of Woolford and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Brannock is preceded in death by three sisters Lottie Belle Lutz, Betty Nepert and Blondell Smith.

Pallbearers will be Mike Kennedy, Buddy Aaron, Gary Phillips, Jimmy Travers, Ray King and Gregory Lutz.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Robert G. Kirkley officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m.
