Gerald Douglas Thomas died peacefully at his home in Fort Pierce, FL on December 28, 2023.
Born on July 27, 1949 to the late Irving & Laura Thomas, he was affectionally known as Pie, G-Man, Uncle G, Pop G and Dad. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the Army as a field wireman with the 101st Airborne Division. After a long career as a pressman, he retired from Cadmus Publishing and ended up working several more years as “Security” at Londonderry. Gerald was an exceptional man. He was a devoted and loving husband, Father, Grandfather, son, friend and sponsor (a proud, long-time friend of Bill W). He had a generous heart and a million dollar smile that charmed more than a few!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia, his grandson Dustin Haddaway, sisters Alice & Margaret Thomas, Portia Macer and Vanlee Thomas. He is survived by his children Gerald Thomas, Jr. (April), Melissa Thomas Brown, Shannon & Dwayne Haddaway, sister Barbara Camper (James), brother Ronald Thomas (Portia),a close cousin Herbert Mills (Jenny), grandchildren Bryant and Antwine Thomas, Shaquinta Gibson (Josh), Shanequa Thomas, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that he loved and appreciated.
A gathering in Gerald’s memory will be held on Sat., January 20th, 1-3 pm at Easton VFW on Glebe Rd in Easton, MD. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
