Gladys I. (Holliday) Mills

Gladys I. Mills, 96, of Delmar, DE formerly of Madison, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at her home. She was born in Wingate on June 23, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Frank Henry Holliday and Maryann Elsie Insley Fitzhugh Holliday.

Mrs. Mills attended schools in Dorchester County. She was married to the late Ottie Washington Mills, Jr., who passed away on April 25, 2016. Mrs. Mills had worked at Airpax for a while and later at Western Publishing.

She is survived by a son Kevin Mills and companion Terry Adams and a daughter Christie Mills, grandchildren James Dean, Brian Dean, John Dean, Tammie Willis, Jeff Mills, Jr., Kara Mills Jones, many great grandchildren, a sister Frances Bloodsworth, a brother Robert Holliday and wife Barbara and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Mills is preceded in death by two sons Jeffrey Mills and Daniel Mills, a daughter Sharie Dean, her siblings Nancy Fitzhugh, Amos Fitzhugh, Susie Fitzhugh Holliday,, Frank "Buddy" Holliday and Ruth Moore.

A chapel service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 2pm at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery with her nephew Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
