Gwendolyn Lee (Rosetta) Lewis

Gwendolyn L. Lewis, 81, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016. She was born in Cambridge on February 18, 1934 and was a daughter of the late Harry Rosetta and her mother Edna Woolford Bell and her stepfather John Bell.

Mrs. Lewis graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1952. On July 13, 1956, she married William John Kehoe Lewis, who passed away on January 18, 2010. She worked at the Dorset Laundry and later at Airpax. Mrs. Lewis enjoyed being on the water, and playing with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Home League at the Salvation Army.

She is survived by a son Michael Lewis of Easton, a daughter Susan Gerbig and husband Kurt of Cambridge, two step daughters Brenda Kimmey of Hurlock, Wanda Tolley and husband Andrew of Woolford, a stepson William John Kehoe Lewis, Jr. of Cambridge, two grandchildren Stephanie Hill and Warren Stafford, three step grandchildren Heather Abbott, Ashley Kimmey, and Mila Tolley, seven great grandchildren, brother Willis Bell and wife Bonnie of Cambridge, sister Faye Murphy and husband Gene of Cambridge, sister in law DeRue Hoffman of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Lewis is preceded in death by two brothers Emerson Rosetta and Richard Rosetta, and a sister Margaret Adams.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Capt. Rebekah Abram officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
