He attended schools at Taylors Island as well as Cambridge. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1939. On December 24, 1943 he married the former Clara Mace Layton. During WW II he had served in the US Army Air Corps. He had worked at the Cambridge Wire Cloth for 43 years and had retired on December 31, 1984. Mr. Brannock was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church where he had been quite active in a number of activities. He enjoyed spending time working on his property, caring for his roses, cutting grass and taking his dog for a ride. Mr. Brannock was stricken suddenly on Thursday morning.
Survivors include his wife Clara Mace Brannock of Cambridge, two daughters Joyce L. Still of Cambridge, Nanelle L. Rosemere and her husband Jack Rosemere of Cambridge, one son Terry L. Brannock and his wife Frances Brannock of Cambridge, four grandchildren Julie Still of Phoenix, AZ, Amy Still of Holly Springs, NC, Henry "Hank" L. Brannock and Thomas L. Brannock both of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Thomas L. Brannock Jr. and Vernon E. Brannock.
A funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Pam Bockart and the Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Interment will follow at the McKendree Cemetery at Rhodesdale. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Antioch United Methodist Church, c/o Susan Meredith, 5413 Town Point Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Pallbearers will be John Newcomb, Warren Newcomb, Oscar Sipler, Thomas Robbins, Ron Kreitner and Fred Traviz. Honorary bearers will be Ricky Cantwell and Richard Drescher.
