Harold "Skip" M. Miller, Jr., 69, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury with his loving family beside him. He was born in Upper Montclair, NJ on June 3, 1945 and was a son of the late Harold M. Miller, Sr. and Noreen Mitchell Miller.

Skip graduated from Cambridge High School in the class of 1963. He then graduated from Tulane University in 1967 with a B.S. in civil engineering. On June 18, 1967, he married the former Bride Burton and they then resided in New Orleans where he received his master's degree in sanitary engineering in 1968 from Tulane University. From 1974 to 1996, Skip was a co-owner of Andrews, Miller and Associates in Cambridge. He was also a real estate agent with Powell Realtors, a property manager, and was also an expert witness in civil engineering legal cases. Skip enjoyed hunting with his family and friends, photography, spending time at the beach, landscaping, traveling, and sports.

Skip was a member of Beckwith United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for many years. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta at Tulane University and a member of the Cambridge Yacht Club. He proudly served as past president of the Grand National Waterfowl Association and served as the chairman of the education trust fund. He was a long time sponsor of the National Wild Turkey Federation and Ducks Unlimited. In 1997, he served as president of the Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce. Also, he was a board member of and volunteered at the Choptank River Lighthouse and the Dorchester County Historical Society.

Skip is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bride Miller of Cambridge, a son Dr. Lance Miller and wife Trish and their children Kayleigh and Erin all of Jonesville, SC, a daughter Becky Callahan and husband Rick of Cambridge and their son Blaine of Cambridge, three sisters Bonnie Warren, Janet Miller and Marian Miller and several nephews.

Pallbearers will be Blaine Callahan, McKenna Dean, Brian Burton, Jason Burton, Shane Burton and Justin Burton.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Beckwith United Methodist Church with Pastor Pam Bockart officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Beckwith United Methodist Church, 5643 Clifton Woods Drive, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to GNWA Education Trust, P.O.
