Harold Leonard Phillips Sr, 78, of Cambridge, passed away on April 16, 2023 at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton, with his wife, two step-daughters and sister by his side.
Harold was born on February 16, 1945 in Cambridge to the late William and Mary Cheesman Phillips. He graduated from Cambridge High School, class of 1963. After graduation he started working at the Western Publishing Company, later known as Mailwell Graphics, for 33 years. In later years he also worked for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and WT Ruark Seafood.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi, of 37 years, as well as their two fur babies, Cloee and Josee. His children, Harold Phillips Jr, Angela (Johnny) Thomas and Lanette (John) Tyler, two step daughters, Deborah (Jeff) Moran and Donna (Otis) Faulkner. His grandchildren, Ashley and Amber Phillips, Seth (Carly) Thomas, Logan Thomas, Miranda (Darrell) Lanier, Ronnie (Tabetha) Harding, Billy (Amber) Harding, Aimee’ (Bryan) Wilkins and James (Liz) Johnson, along with several great-grandchildren. His two sisters, Doris (John) Quidas, Lena (Roger) Paulsen and several nieces and nephews. Special friends, he loved fishing on the Santana in Ocean City with Roland Wheatley, Bobby Wheatley, James Wheatley, John Knox and Nelson Mills. Many classmates and hunting buddies, the late Gary White and Bill Parks, Bill Outten, Steve Mills and Randy White.
Harold is proceeded in death by both parents and two sisters, Mary Airey and Judy Davenport.
A service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 2pm at The Elks Lodge 1272 in Cambridge, where he was a lifetime member. A reception will follow immediately after. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cambridge Elks Lodge #1272, P.O. Box 381, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
