Hazel (Willey) Holley

August 12, 1937 — August 19, 2016

Hazel Holley, 79, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Ross Neck on August 12, 1937 and was a daughter of the late John Alizey Willey and Myrtle Blondell Johnson Willey.

Mrs. Holley graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1955. After high school, she went to work for McCroy’s until she got married on April 5, 1958 to the late Charles Lindbergh Holley. Mrs. Holley’s husband served our country and they lived in different areas of the world; from Georgia, to Texas, to Germany, to Japan and to Turkey before returning to Cambridge in 1975. After her husband’s passing, Mrs. Holley went back to work and was employed at Airpax until she retired. Then, she was a home caregiver until 1999. In May, she was able to take a trip to Texas her see her great grandsons. Mrs. Holley was an avid reader and was a member of Souls Harbor Church of God in Cambridge.

She is survived by two daughters Elaine Holley of Cambridge and Kaye McComas and husband Leroy of Cambridge, two granddaughters Michelle Lynn McComas of Anne Arundrel and Stephanie McComas Lamb and husband Greg of Texas and their children Charlie and Billy, a brother Richard Willey of Cambridge, a sister Frances Nadilo of New Jersey and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Holley is preceded in death by three sisters Evelyn Spedden, Ruth Bramble and Normalee Bramble, and five brothers Russell Willey, Raymond Willey, Joseph Willey, Johnnie Willey, and Elzey Willey.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 12:30 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. with Rev. Edward King officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
