Howard L. “Dude” Willoughby, 87, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, June 04, 2015 at Salisbury Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born in Cambridge on March 14, 1928 to the late Howard and Helen Duncan Willoughby.

Dude served in the United States Navy. He married the former Audrey James on July 15, 1967. Mr. Willoughby was the owner of Howard Willoughby Plumbing. Dude was a member of the Cambridge Lodge #66 A.F. & A.M., the American Legion Post 91 and was the oldest living member of the 782 Plumbing Union and also the Cambridge Rescue Fire Company.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Audrey Willoughby of Salisbury, a son Scott Willoughby of Salisbury, two daughters Donna Willoughby and Adrienne Kawamura both of Seattle, WA and a sister Shirley Hurley and husband James of Cambridge. Besides his parents, Dude is preceded in death by two brothers Neil and Kenneth Willoughby.

A funeral service will be held Monday, June 8, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Dave Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Rd., Cambridge, MD 21613.
