Ira L. Berry

Ira L. Berry, 96, of Federalsburg passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. He was born in Baltimore, MD on January 21, 1925 and was a son of the late Ira E. and Minnie Stocks Berry.

Mr. Berry served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. On June 27, 1946, he married the former Mary Floyd, who passed away on December 5, 2016. Mr. Berry worked on the water in Taylors Island and he also was a Baltimore Police Officer where he retired. He enjoyed gardening, wood working. Mr. Berry was a member of the American Legion Post 91, Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW, and the Fraternal Order of Police Baltimore City Lodge #003.

He is survived by two children John Berry and wife Nancy of Baltimore, and Michael Berry and wife Estelle of Federalsburg, three grandchildren Jason Berry, Michelle Parker and David Kron and wife Chrissy, three great grandchildren Dustin Kron, and Faith Berry. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Berry is preceded in death by a daughter Sharon McVey, a son David Berry and a sister Leola Keene.

Services will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
