Irene M. DeLuca, 88, of Cambridge, passed away on November 7, 2018 surrounded by family at Integrace at Bayleigh Chase in Easton, MD. She was born in Camden, NJ to the late Walter and Blanch Miaczynski.
Irene attended schools in Camden. She graduated from Camden High School and was ranked 23rd out of 360. Irene was not only beautiful, she was also very smart. She was co-owner of a family-owned business started in 1980, DELCO Packaging Products. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, walking and spending time with family. On May 9, 1953, she married John Joseph DeLuca, Sr. Together, they enjoyed traveling to various locations, visiting Italy, and multiple cities and states from Cape Cod to San Francisco, and Michigan to Florida.
Irene is survived by her devoted husband, John, her loving children Lynne Kelleher and husband Eugene of Bowie, Richard DeLuca and wife Dorothy of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, David DeLuca and wife Melissa of St. Michaels, MD, and Donna Farella and husband Mark of Clarkston, Michigan, as well as 11 caring grandchildren. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, John Joseph DeLuca, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Refuge of Sinners in Cambridge, Maryland on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11 AM with Father Bruce Byrolly presiding. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to T.R.E.E.S., an organization to support scholarships for future CNA students. These donations may be sent to the T.R.E.E.S. Scholarship Committee, C/O Chesapeake College Foundation, P.O. Box 8, Wye Mills, MD 21679. Please be sure to annotate T.R.E.E.S. on the check. Funeral arrangements are in care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, MD.
