Irene M. Taylor, 98, of Easton, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at The Pine’s in Easton. She was born in Cambridge on March 10, 1922 and was a daughter of the late George and Stella Fischer Malkus.
Mrs. Taylor graduated from Cambridge High School. She grew up on Egypt Road and later moved to Maple Dam Road before moving to Easton. On October of 1940, she married Perry Meyer who passed away on September of 1971, and late she married Fleetwood Taylor in the fall 1959 and passed away in October of 1965. Mrs. Taylor worked for some years at Rob Roy, than was a house wife and later in life, she got her CNA, where she was a patient sitter. She enjoyed crocheting, and reading and was a life member of the Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW and a life-long member of Immanuel United Church of Christ.
She is survived by four children David Meyer and wife Charlotte of Cambridge, Darlene McNeal and husband Ralph of Easton, Ann McCaslin and husband Darryl of Easton, Ellen Benjamin and husband Duqui of Salisbury, two stepchildren Dawn Taylor Eaton of Cambridge and George Taylor of Cambridge, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, a sister Kathryn Cole of Florida, two special nieces Annette Stine and Barbara Mills and numerous other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husbands, Mrs. Taylor is preceded in death by a daughter Evelyn Taylor, a sister Clara Schnoor, two grandsons David Meyer, Jr. and Mark Riley, and two brothers Phillips Malkus and George "Bucky" Malkus.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11 am at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. Dale Krotee officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 Whitehall Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Dixon House, 108 N. Higgins Street, Easton, MD 21601. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Face mask and social distancing is required.
