J. Carlton Willey, 67 of Salisbury, formerly of Church Creek, passed away on Wednesday December 29, 2010 at Dove Pointe in Salisbury. He was born at Church Creek on May 25, 1943, and was a son of the late Emmitt Rastall and Marjorie Hilda Layton Willey.
Carlton attended schools in Church Creek and also at Cambridge High School. Some years ago he had worked with his brother cutting firewood and cutting grass. Carlton loved music, walking, going to Church and playing basketball. He had been in failing health for the past ten years when he passed away on Wednesday morning.
Survivors include four sisters Ellen W. Collins and her husband Dickie Collins of Harrington, Linda Reeves and her husband Dave Reeves of Rossville, GA, Katie Lloyd and her husband Eddie Lloyd of Cambridge and Sandy Niblett and her husband Pete Niblett of Cambridge, one brother William Emmitt Willey and his wife Ann Willey of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with the Rev. Robert G. Kirkley officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. Pallbearers will be Roy Robinson, Rusty Lloyd, Jamie Niblett, David Whitby, Gary Smith and Pete Niblett. Memorial contributions may be made either to Dove Pointe, 1225 Mt. Hermon Road, Salisbury, MD, 21804 or to the Church of the Nazarene, 97 Sandy Hill Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
