James F. Ewing, Jr., 73, of Cambridge, MD died at Autumn Lake Chesapeake Woods on April 2, 2025.
Jim as he was known was born in Chester, MD on January 14, 1952 and was the son of the late James F. Ewing, Sr. and Isabell Lowery Ewing.
He attended school on Kent Island and graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School in Centreville in 1970. He started working at a young age in the family restaurant “The Circle” on Kent Island. Later he worked for Queen Anne County for 30 years and for Safeway for about 8 years.
He was a member of Christ Church in Kent Island. He served on the vestry and served as an usher.
On May 14, 2005 he married Bobbie K. Fitzgerald-Abbott of Cambridge.
He was a proud member of the North Dorchester Jaycees receiving his lifetime membership in the militia and his senatorship through this organization. He was also a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 91 in Cambridge.
He and Bobbie K. liked going to Myrtle Beach, S.C. and going on cruises. He also loved his family. Jim loved his sports like the Orioles and Ravens, as well as Maryland Terps Basketball games.
Jim is survived by his wife Bobbie Kaye, his daughter Missy Wilson, granddaughter Megan Wilson, sisters Dian Rowe, Claudia Jewell (Charles) and Beth Coppage (Alan), sister-in-laws Sandra McCollister (Ron)and Joy Robbins, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim is predeceased by his parents, brother-in-law Donald Rowe and a special family friend Anna Aldridge Taylor AKA Mom-Mom Anna.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church in Kent Island, 830 Romancoke Rd. Stevensville, MD on Saturday May 3, 2025 at 11 AM. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
