James O. Foxwell, 92, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Chesapeake Woods Center. He was born in Lakesville on January 12, 1924 and was a son of the late Thomas H. and Jennie Stevens Foxwell.
He attended schools in Crapo. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. On April 10, 1944, he married the former Betty Johnson, who passed away on June 7, 2000. He was owner/operator of Cambridge Automotive/ Napa Auto Parts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
He is survived by a son William O. Foxwell of Secretary, a daughter Cindy A. Stevens and husband Russ of Hurlock, two grandchildren Kristi L. Shaw (Bryan) and Kellie L. Stevens, two great grandchildren, a brother Leonard Foxwell and wife Janice of Cambridge, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Foxwell is preceded in death by a son James O. Foxwell, Jr., a granddaughter Kathryn E. Foxwell Murray, a brother Thomas Foxwell, Jr. and two sisters Pauline "Polly" F. Robbins and Julia Norris Mills.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 2 pm at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. William Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to http://www.operationhomefront.net. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
