James C. “Jimmy” Harrison, 77, of Easton passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Cambridge on November 12, 1937 and was a son of the late Carroll Lee Harrison and Susie Bridge Harrison.

Jimmy attended schools in Dorchester County. He served in the U.S. Army. On June 18, 1972, he married the former Katherine Knopp. Jimmy worked for Suburban Propane in Easton and retired in 1997 with thirty years of service. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, hunting, crabbing and feeding the birds. Jimmy also helped coach Legion Baseball with his dad. He was a member of the Elks, the Moose and the American Legion Post 70 all in Easton.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Harrison of Easton, two sons Steven Lee Harrison and wife Amy of Hurlock and JR Harrison and wife Stacy of Preston, four grandchildren Brandon, Maddy, Ty and Emilee, two sisters Peggy James of Cambridge and Joan Stump and husband Robert of Cambridge, a brother Billy L. Harrison of Augusta, GA, a stepbrother Marion L. “Buck” Wheatley of Cambridge and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Harrison is preceded in death by his step mother Betty Harrison and a brother Franklin E. Harrison.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Dewayne Dixon officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
