James "Jimmy" C. Shores

James “Jimmy” C. Shores, 77, of Hurlock passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Cambridge on July 16, 1947 and was a son of the late George Shores and Beatrice Elzey Lewis and step father David Lewis.

He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. On June 23, 1967 he married the former Sharon Harris. He was a truck driver for various companies. He enjoyed fishing, travel, playing cards, watching football, and loved being with his family. He was a member of Lloyd's and Church Creek VFC, American Legion in Hurlock, 

 He is survived by his wife Sharon Shores of Hurlock, two children Tammy Lewis and husband Charles of East New Market and Timothy Shores and wife Christina of Secretary, four grandchildren Nicholas Lewis, Jake Lewis (Brooke Abey), Lee Shores, and Caleb Shores, a great granddaughter Adalyn Lewis, two brothers Allen Shores of Cambridge and Tommy Shores and wife B.J. of Salisbury and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Shores is preceded in death by a sister Edna Mae Goslin and brother in law Nelson Goslin, and step father David Lewis.

 Pallbearers will be Charles Lewis, Nick Lewis, Jake Lewis, Timothy Shores, Lee Shores and Caleb Shores. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Shores, Tommy Shores, Scott Shores, Allen Shores, Jr. and Craig Elzey.

 A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 1pm at Unity Washington United Methodist Church 112 N. Main Street, Hurlock, MD 21643 with Rev.’s George Simmons, Wayne Stone and David Wooten officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Visiting Angels or to Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
