James Donald Lantz

James Donald Lantz, 82, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at his home. He was born on July 6, 1932 in Cambridge and was a son of the late Thomas O. Lantz, Sr. and Eunice Thomas Lantz.

He attended school in Cambridge. On November 26, 1969, he married the former Norma Lee Dixon. Mr. Lantz served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Lantz was employed as a tree trimmer with Delmarva Power in Cambridge for 36 years, retiring in August of 1992. While he was able, he enjoyed doing yard work, gardening and fishing with his fishing friends. He was a member of the Delmarva Power retirees Vingt Cinq Club and the American Legion Post 91.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Norma Lee Lantz, two daughters Gail Horsman and husband Robert, Jr., and Debbie Shockley and husband Gary, a grandson Connor Shockley, a sister in law Marge Lantz, several nieces and nephews, and a special caregiver, Lindsey Ross. Besides his parents, Mr. Lantz is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lantz and Thomas O. Lantz, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O.
