James R. Keene, Jr.

James R. Keene, Jr., 74, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, March 17, 2024 at Bay Health in Milford, DE. He was born in Cambridge on September 24, 1950 to the late James Russell Keene, Sr. and Ollie Johnson Keene.

Mr. Keene graduated from Cambridge High School Class of 1968. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Mr. Keene will always be remembered for his walk. He was a member American Legion Post #87 where he served as president, and the Cambridge Lodge #223 ELKS.

Mr. Keene is survived by three sisters and two special nephews that he raised as his own Jason and Johnathan Keene. Besides his parents, Mr. Keene is preceded in death by a sister Deborah Keene Smith and a brother Gary Keene.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home at 12 PM with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veteran’s Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
