James "Jimmy" F. Era, Sr.

James “Jimmy” F. Era, Sr., 62, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at UMSMC at Easton. He was born in Colorado on June 27, 1960 and was a son of the late Norman J. “Sonny” Era, Sr. and Barbara Hughes Era.

He attended school at North Dorchester High School. Mr. Era served in the Army National Guard. He worked in Marine Construction and later owned Jim's Boatlift. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and being on the water.

He is survived by three children James F. Era, Jr. and wife Kathy, Martin Era and fiancée Candy Newnam, Melanie Era, a bonus son Casey North and wife Amanda, his sibling Butch Era and wife Patsy, Donna Era and companion Elmer Ruark, Mike Era and companion Donna Dickerson, Angel Biskach and husband Dan, and Shelly Era, an aunt Betty Harrison, several grandchildren and three great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Era is preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 3pm at the Hurlock American Legion Post #243. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
